General Behavior

They are active at night. During the day they hide in damp and quiet places.

They like to live outdoors but will enter dwellings for food and water.

Their reproduction rate and speed are high.

They can fly short distances. They are attracted to lights.

Threats

They carry bacteria and pathogens from decaying matter.

If they travel on food, they contaminate it and pose a risk of disease.

Some individuals may experience allergenic reactions.

In case of infestation, they cause other pests to arrive.

How to Prevent Infestations?

Leaf piles, wood piles and other garbage in outdoor areas should be kept away.

Gaps in areas such as doors, windows, ventilation, etc. should be closed.

They are less attracted to the use of yellow light in outdoor lighting.

Damp areas around the house should be dried.
