Bed bugs are active at night, often choosing the night as their feeding time. They are guided by human warmth and the emission of carbon dioxide. Their mouth structures are different to pierce the skin of humans and they synthesize chemicals to make feeding on blood easier. That’s why people don’t notice when bedbugs are feeding.
Bed bug bites are similar to those of mosquitoes or fleas, but there are some distinctive features.
Bed bug bites are usually multiple, usually in straight lines.
There is no dot in the center of the rash where they bite.
They usually appear on areas of the body that are left open at night as they feed during sleep.
